My Story
Voice work is vulnerable, complex, and essential for anyone experiencing voice issues, whether they are just starting out or have been singing for 20 years. We all have things to learn about our voice.
My own history and experience with vocal injury led me to the field of speech-pathology. To make a long story short, it took about 5 years to receive a diagnosis that fit my vocal symptoms (vocal fold paresis), and resulted in several surgeries that still left me longing for more vocal function. I completed several years of voice therapy and eventually sought somatic and spiritual healing for my voice. These combined therapies helped me grieve my losses and gain the courage to build a new vocal foundation. This process has humbled me as a voice therapist, to know how life-changing and difficult voice disorders are to work through.
I derive joy from helping students learn to trust and depend on their instrument, while allowing me to be a collaborative tool towards their success.
